Luc at Team Pixelboy says he will take a break from
the ColecoVision homebrew publishing in 2013.
The reason for that should be his long waiting dream for his big project
namely: BasicVision.
Luc will start with the toughest part, which will be ColecoVision's sound
capabilities in Java.
"I will later integrate these tools into the global BasicVision IDE".

Great news for ColecoVision / ADAM programmers.
Russ Kumro aka RKGames has started to program a music tracker for use with
ColecoVision.
The program is written in C sharp on PC Windows well inspired from the old
Amiga tracker.
The program displays a keyboard for all channels and tones.
When the program is finished coded, it will be possible to connect MIDI
interface, and there will be tremendous opportunities.
The ColecoVision Music Tracker is not finished yet, but Russ working hard,
because he and maybe others need this software for games programming.
Last but not least: "I'm hoping to release a .ROM builder function that
will create a compilable stand along jukebox rom of your song,
so anyone without much coding skill could compile the output and enjoy on
your CV hardware. this will come later though! ".
See the ColecoVision Music Tracker

More games from your hand: "Yes I'm working on a few more right now..."
And the new Super Game Module: "My plan is to have a beta SGM done by
the end of February."
"That will include some of the small improvements I added to my
previous unprototyped version, like ADAM compatibility and full 32KB of
RAM available."
"The module will stay under $ 50,-"
"So after I have the module by late February, I hope to have the new
Megacart2 by the end of March."
"After the hardware is done. I should have the rest of the year to

Lindsey at AtariAge says:
"I had an idea about adding RAM to the ColecoVision via the cartridge
slot for homebrew game development.
Basically, we would add an SRAM and byte-level address decoding to the
cartridge.
Then we can define an address in memory that will let us toggle reading or
writing to the RAM.
The same way you would switch banks in a typical bank switching scheme but
instead you're switching between "read mode" and "write mode" for the RAM.
This is a work-around to the CPU R/W signal not being present at the
cartridge connector."
Lindsey is fresh for more:
"I looked at the ColecoVision schematic a few days ago and started
designing hardware for it.
Looking at the schematic, that expansion connector is a really attractive
place to add hardware.
With that port you've got access to all of the signals you'll need to do
anything you can dream of with the Colecovision.
The more I think about it, the more I lean toward developing something
using the expansion connector, but right now I'm working on something for
the cart connector."

Team Pixelboy lifts now the veil on what he brings
to us in 2012 for our ColecoVision.
You can certainly expect: Wonder Boy, Mopiranger, Champion Ice Hockey,
Jewel Panic/Sudoku, and Module Man.
Wonder Boy needs only its Box and Manual, same for Mopiranger, but a bug
freezes the game randomly and will need a new beta ROM.
Champion Ice Hockey needs to be modified and beta-tested, and Jewel Panic
"a re-release of Daniel Bienvenu's Bejeweled,
but it will contain some altered features, as well as the addition of a
bonus game, namely my own game of Sudoku."
Stephen Seehorn is currently working on Module Man for ColecoVision, he
should finish Module Man well before the end of 2012.
The Black Onyx is also a long time coming, the game need the EEPROM-based
savegame feature.
Also Joust, the soundless AtariSoft prototype would be nice to release,
but "Daniel Bienvenu has been moving away from the ColecoVision
homebrew scene lately."
